ESXi fails to format an FCP LUN after it is mounted

Issue

  • ESXi will fail to format an FCP LUN after it was mounted to an ESXi. Host side errors might look similar to the following:

Note: This symptom is also reported on a Cisco UCS/ Cisco MDS SAN switch/ ESXi 6.0  ESXi 6.5 environment with brocade switches.
