EMS log reports env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable: The controller temperature (****) is not readable

Issue

  • The controller is unable to read temperature sensor reports.
  • EMS log reports the following events.

[env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable:error]: The controller temperature (Module B Expander Temp) is not readable.
[env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable:error]: The controller temperature (Module A Expander Temp) is not readable.
[env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable:error]: The controller temperature (Midplane 4 Temp) is not readable.
[env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable:error]: The controller temperature (Midplane 3 Temp) is not readable.
[env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable:error]: The controller temperature (Midplane 2 Temp) is not readable.
[env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable:error]: The controller temperature (Midplane 1 Temp) is not readable.
[env_mgr: monitor.temp.unreadable:error]: The controller temperature (Ambient Temp) is not readable.
[env_mgr: monitor.chassisPower.degraded:warning]: Chassis power is degraded: Sensor detecting voltage anomalies.

monitor.temp.unreadable: monitor.temp.unreadable: The controller temperature (Mezz Temp2) is not readable

[monitor.temp.unreadable:error]: The controller temperature (PCISW-3 Die Temp) is not readable.
[monitor.temp.unreadable:error]: The controller temperature (PCISW-4 Die Temp) is not readable.
[monitor: monitor.globalStatus.critical:EMERGENCY]: Chassis temperature is too high..

  • Chassis temperature is too high..  EMS may report the following due to the bad sensors

Feb 18 10:18:19 [netapp01-06:callhome.chassis.hitemp:error]: Call home for CHASSIS OVER TEMPERATURE 

  • SP-LATEST-IPMI may report failed status for controller sensor:

PCISW-3 Die Temp failed -- C 0 C 5 C 90 C 100 C
PCISW-4 Die Temp failed -- C 0 C 5 C 90 C 100 C
