Issue
- Power cycle of nodes with different ONTAP versions running (9.14.1 and lower, 9.15.1 and higher)
- Example: during an ANDU (Automatic Non-Disruptive Upgrade)
- Unplanned power cycles during the activity
- In ONTAP EMS logs, bad label messages are seen on disks:
raid.assim.disk.badlabelversion:alert]: Disk 0b.00.17P3 Shelf 0 Bay 17 [NETAPP X371_S1643960ATE NA55] S/N [xxxxxx] UID [xxxxxx] has RAID label with version (17), which is not within the currently supported range (5 - 16).
- Drives marked as prefailed after ONTAP upgrade completes:
config_thread: raid.disk.predictiveFailure:error]: Disk 0b.00.17 Shelf 0 Bay 17 [NETAPP X371_S1643960ATE NA55] S/N [S3SENF0KC10788] UID [xxxxxx] reported a predictive failure and it is prefailed; it will be copied to a spare and failed
