  • Ethernet port

Issue

  • Data port link down events reported in event logs:
[node_name: vifmgr: vifmgr.portdown:notice]: A link down event was received on node node_name, port e0c.
[node_name: intr: netif.linkDown:info]: Ethernet e0c: Link down, check cable.
  • If the port is part of an ifgroup, then the ifgroup transitions to degraded state:

[node_name: intr: netif.linkDown:info]: Ethernet e0c: Link down, check cable.
[node_name: intr: net.ifgrp.lacp.link.inactive:error]: ifgrp a0a, port e0c has transitioned to an inactive state. The interface group is in a degraded state.

Cluster::> ifgrp show -instance

Node: Node_01
Interface Group Name: a0a
Distribution Function: ip
Create Policy: multimode_lacp
MAC Address: d2:39:ea:a8:20:35
Port Participation: partial
Network Ports: e0c, e0d, e0e, e0f
Up Ports: e0d, e0e, e0f
Down Ports: e0c

  • IFCONFIG -vvv output shows the port rx power as 0:

        status: no carrier
        plugged: SFP/SFP+/SFP28 10G Base-SR (LC)
vendor: Intel Corp PN: FTLX8574D3BCV-IT SN: A41A571 DATE: 2020-06-30
        module temperature: 32.03 C Voltage: 3.37 Volts
RX: 0.00 mW (-26.78 dBm) TX: 0.22 mW (-6.57 dBm)

  • The issue remains with a port up-admin down/up.
  • The issue remains with a port shut/no shut from the switch side.
  • The issue remains after re-seating the cable.
  • The issue remains with a add/remove port from the ifgrp.
  • The port works fine with another SFP.
