Issue

  • Accessing ONTAP from Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) using a serial console, cannot log in.
  • From "sp-latest-console-log" found PANIC message below.

Example:

PANIC: thread (swi4: clock) on cpu 9 hung for 4001 milliseconds in process swi4: clock on release 9.5P6 (C) on Mon Jun  8 11:48:57 JST 2020
version: 9.5P6: Wed Jul 10 19:00:56 EDT 2019
compile flags: x86_64.optimize
HA: current time (in sk_msecs) 2761693006 (in sk_cycles) 4163160460561268

  • Clustershell is not available via serial connection.

Example:

BMC node-02> sp          exit

Switching console to BMC

BMC Login: admin
Password:
Login incorrect
BMC Login:
Login timed out

  • BMC shell can use regardless of connection type.
  • LOADER prompt is functional and "Waiting for giveback" is displayed normally.
  • Trying "bmc reboot" from BMC shell, but cannot log in ONTAP.
