Risk Summary

The boot environment variable "AUTO_FW_UPDATE" is set to false

  • It is recommended to enable "AUTO_FW_UPDATE", so that BIOS firmware gets updated automatically when a new firmware is bundled in ONTAP upgrade package
  • If your system is using an older BIOS firmware version, it will be missing the latest fixes and enhancements to increase system uptime and improve stability
