Chassis power supply failure after a power outage

Issue

  • After a power outage, there is no power input to the system to boot the nodes.
  • Amber LEDs are seen on the chassis power supplies.
  • The power source to the PSUs is verified by connecting to an alternate PDU.
  • Reseat of the power supplies does not bring them online.
  • For AFF-C400, following log entries may also appear:
Tue Apr 09 11:49:00  1000 [dc3ns-nacl1-03: monitor: monitor.globalStatus.critical:EMERGENCY]: Disk shelf fault.
Tue Apr 09 11:49:06  1000 [dc3ns-nacl1-03: statd: monitor.shelf.fault:alert]: Critical fault reported on disk storage shelf attached to channel 0x. Check fans, power supplies, disks, and temperature sensors.
Tue Apr 09 11:49:06  1000 [dc3ns-nacl1-03: statd: callhome.shlf.fault:error]: Call home for SHELF_FAULT
