Applies to

  • NetApp AFF C250 and AFF C30 systems
  • ONTAP 9.17.1P8
  • Controller upgrade using Aggregate Relocation (ARL) method

Issue

During an in-chassis controller upgrade from AFF C250 to AFF C30 using the ARL method, aggregate relocation to the new node fails with disk inventory errors. The replacement node does not have full visibility to the expected disk inventory and partition/container ownership appears to be in a mixed state.
Aggregates Relocation Status: Failed: destination cannot receive the aggregate. Check failed by disk_inventory. Check the eventlog....Disk/partition ownership appear to be in a mixed state....Several storage containers still associated with original node SystemID.
