Access to BMC lost after upgrading firmware to 11.5

Issue

  • Unable to log in to the BMC via SSH or serial connection after upgrading firmware to 11.5 version.
  • The BMC itself is online and working.
  • The ip address of the BMC can still be reached via ping requests.
  • An unknown status is displayed for the firmware in ONTAP:
Cluster::> system service-processor show -fields type,status,fw-version
node type status fw-version
------------ ---- ------ ----------
Node-01 BMC online unknown
Node-02 BMC online unknown
