Port offline due to NetApp 100BASE-CWDM4 SFP (X65406) incompatibility with 400G/800G switches

  • Mellanox/NVIDIA MMS1V70-CM DR1 (100GBASE-DR1 QSFP28) optical transceiver
  • Environments connecting to 400G/800G Ethernet switches using breakout cabling

Issue

  • Unsupported Mellanox/NVIDIA 100GBASE-DR1 SFP being used. They were operating normally.
  • The NVIDIA optics were replaced with NetApp X65406 100GBASE-CDWM4 SFPs.
  • With the X65406 optics, the port did not come online.
