Issue

The following error message is observed in the ONTAP EMS logs:

[NetappXX-04: cf_main: cf.fsm.takeoverOfPartnerDisabled:error]: Failover monitor: takeover of NetappXX-03 disabled (unsynchronized log).
  • Takeover of NetappXX-03 by NetappUM-04 is disabled due to unsynchronized log.
  • Issue persists despite updating RCF to 1.14a, rebooting switches, reseating HA connections, and replacing cluster cables.
  • Switch logs show repeated “LinkDown” events and local fault reason codes on CS2 port 0/3 (connected to NetappUM-03 e0b), e.g.:
LinkDown: 0/3ReasonCode: 0x40 (Local Fault)
  • No current performance or data impact. However, HA failover is not possible while unsynchronized log persists.
