Issue

Giveback can fail when ONTAP reports a personality mismatch between high-availability (HA) partners. The affected node can remain waiting for giveback, preventing completion of HA recovery or pausing an automated nondisruptive upgrade.
The following messages can appear:
  • Partner node personality is different from local node personality
  • Giveback cancelled due to partner DNA mismatch
