Issue

After a Takeover reboot of one node in an HA-Pair, the taken over node's CFO giveback succeeds, but HA-Takeover gets disabled due to wrong mailbox disks picked by the rebooted node. SFO aggregates might not be able to return home, for example when they are configured for Fabricpool.
The resulting symptoms can vary, for example:

  • storage failover takeover is disabled
  • The node reports an empty/ wrong/unknown hostname after CFO giveback under "storage failover show" under "Node" or "Partner"
  • Hardware assist can fails to pick the correct mgmt IP to bind to
  • Fabricpool can report unavailable cloud tier and this can even veto SFO giveback of data aggregates. At the same time a manual validation (object-store profiler) of the cloud tier on the node that went though CFO-giveback and then reported wrong mailbox disks, confirms cloud tier connection working fine.
