Issue

  • HA Group Notification (CHASSIS OVER TEMPERATURE) ERROR triggers intermittently on AFF A1K, AFF A90, AFF A70, AFF C80, AFX 1K, ASA A1K, ASA A90, ASA A70, FAS90 or FAS70 storage systems
  • Event log shows the "NVRAM M2 Temp" sensor is reaching the warning or critical high threshold:
    Sat Sep 20 07:54:57 +0000 [Node1: env_mgr: monitor.chassisTemperature.warm:alert]: Chassis temperature is too warm: NVRAM M2 Temp is warning high (67 C).
    Sat Sep 20 07:55:00 +0000 [Node1: monitor: monitor.globalStatus.critical:EMERGENCY]: Chassis temperature is too high..


  • Moments later, it returns to the normal range:
    Sat Sep 20 07:55:31 +0000 [Node1: env_mgr: monitor.chassisTemperature.ok:notice]: Chassis temperature is ok.
    Sat Sep 20 07:56:00 +0000 [Node1: monitor: monitor.globalStatus.ok:notice]: The system's global status is normal.


  • BMC's syslog shows a destage was in progress or just completed:
    Sep 20 07:53:58 BMCNode1 root: eventfifod 572.950: 137(0x8089) : Destage in progres asserted
    Sep 20 07:54:34 BMCNode1 root: eventfifod 364.415: 137(0x0089) : Destage in progres de-asserted
