CHW-1355: "ADR timeout" event reported after L2 watchdog reset

Issue

  • An AFF A300 or FAS8200 system reports an "ADR timeout" event after a level 2 (L2) watchdog reset of the controller.
  • The following messages are seen on the system serial console:

[Mon Dec 27 16:21:57 2021 [nv2flash.ADR.timeout:ERROR]:ADR(Asynchronous DRAM self-refresh) failed at Mon Dec 27 16:19:48 2021.] [Mon Dec 27 16:21:57 2021 [nv2flash.restage.progress:NOTICE]: ReStage is not needed because the flash has no data.]

  • The following events are seen in the system event log of the SP:

[Record 392: Mon Dec 27 16:21:57 2021 [IPMI.critical]: ADR event ID: 0 at time: 1614397319] [Record 393: Mon Dec 27 16:21:57 2021 [IPMI.critical]: ADR Battery destage cycles: 19] [Record 394: Mon Dec 27 16:22:01 2021 [IPMI Event.critical]: NMI] [Record 395: Mon Dec 27 16:22:03 2021 [IPMI Event.critical]: L2 watchdog timeout hard reset]
