CFBMC-8659: BMC firmware update fails with "Metadata info not present in new package" message

Issue

When using the BMC CLI to update the BMC firmware from a significantly older version, the update might fail with the error: "Firmware install failed. Error message: Metadata info not present in new package."
Affected models:

  • AFF A800, AFF C800, ASA A800, ASA C800: From BMC 10.9 or earlier to 10.11 or later
  • AFF A220, AFF A150, AFF C190, ASA A150, FAS2750, FAS272: From BMC 11.10 or earlier to 11.13 or later
  • FAS2820: From BMC 17.2 or earlier to 17.5 or later
