Answer

During SVM replication using SnapMirror, certain operations on the source SVM and volumes restricted depending on the replication status (e.g., Initialize, Transferring).
  • Operations that are allowed during SVM replication:
    • Snapshot creation
    • Volume expansion
    • Data read/write
  • Operations that are restricted during SVM replication:
    • Snapshot deletion: SnapMirror uses snapshots for replication, and deleting these snapshots disrupts the replication process.
    • Volume deletion: Deleting volumes that are part of the SnapMirror relationship causes replication failures.
    • Volume renaming: Renaming volumes involved in SnapMirror replication leads to errors in the replication process.
    • SVM configuration changes: Changes to the SVM configuration that affect SnapMirror relationships cause replication issues .
