Answer

  • NDMP uses port 10000/TCP for the NDMP Control Connection.
    • The NDMP Control Connection is the initial connection from the DMA to the NDMP Server.
    • Engage your org's network team to verify that port 10000 is open in any network device between the LIF and the Data Management Application (DMA) IP address.
      For example, review Firewall Policies, ensuring they allow for NDMP requests on port 10000.  
  • NDMP can use port range 1024-65535 for the NDMP Data Connection, but this port range can be limited.
  • As part of NDMP 3-way connections, the listen side defaults to port range 18600 to 18699.
