Failed to start conversion on volume due to encryption in progress error

Issue

  • When encrypting a volume, the following error is displayed:
Failed to start conversion on volume "volume1" in Vserver "svm-02". Reason: Encryption conversion operation is already in progress on volume "volume1".
 
  • Upon checking the conversion table, an error is displayed:
::*> volume encryption conversion show

                        2/29/2024 16:20:59    Paused on error.
                                              Reason: The volume
                                              location database
                                              (VLDB) is inconsistent
                                              with WAFL information.
                                              Contact technical
                                              support for assistance.
  • VLDB and WAFL are observed to be consistent
