After a modification is made to an existing volume or aggregate efficiency configuration such as following How to maximize storage efficiency post AFF ONTAP 9.x migration or How to maximize storage efficiency on All Flash FAS systems running ONTAP 9.x it may be necessary to run storage efficiency scanners to apply the new settings to previously written data.
