Redundant configuration is missing for cn1610 due to reboot loop

Issue

  • CN1610 cluster switch goes missing.
  • The switch health is degraded and the system health alert shows the following:

Probable Cause: Redundant configuration is missing for cluster
switches.

Probable Cause: The cable used to connect switch "sw1/ Link
Aggregate 1" to the ISL port might be faulty.

  • The following alerts are reported in the event logs:

[node-01: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = ClusterSwitchMissing_Alert , Alerting Resource = Sw1 raised by monitor ethernet-switch

[node-01: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = ClusterIfIslDownWarn_Alert , Alerting Resource = sw2/ Link Aggregate 1 raised by monitor ethernet-switch

  • The switch is not visible from the cluster switch health monitor in ONTAP
  • All ports connected to the switch are down.
  • Connecting to the console of the switch shows the following:

The system is restarting due to inconsistent state.

  • Power cycle does not resolve the issue.
