How to remove the deprecated SNMP community string "netapp" from CN1610 cluster switches
Applies to
- CN1610 cluster switch
- CN1601 cluster management switch
Description
The initial deployment of CN1610/CN1601 cluster switches using RCF (Reference Configuration File) version 1.0 configured an SNMP community string of "netapp". All subsequent RCF versions use the community string "cshm1!" instead and no longer use "netapp".
When the RCF is upgraded from v1.0 to v1.1 or later, the new community string "cshm1!" is added to the switch configuration, however the original (and now deprecated) community string "netapp" does not get removed. The community string "netapp" should be removed manually after RCF v1.1 or later is applied over RCF 1.0.
Note1: This only affects switches that had RCF v1.0 installed originally. Switches initially installed with RCF v1.1 or later are not affected.
Note2: Do not remove the community string "chsm1!" as it will break the Cluster Switch Health Monitoring (CSHM).
