Answer

  • Installing the RCF on the switch requires restarting the switch
  • If each time one switch is restarted while the other can still provide a functional storage access link, it should not affect storage access
  • However, NetApp document does not provide explicit guidance on this matter
  • If clarification is needed, before updating the RCF, we recommend that customers either conduct a test or schedule a maintenance window for the RCF update task
