Issue

  • SwitchUnreachable_Alert is reported on a cluster switch.
  • The reported cluster switch is not being monitored with the following reason:

::> system switch ethernet show
Switch                      Type               Address          Model
--------------------------- ------------------ ---------------- ---------------
Switch_1(FLMXXXXXXXX)     cluster-network    19.225.XXX.XX     NX3132V
     Serial Number: FLMXXXXXXXX
      Is Monitored: false
            Reason: IP address not reachable
  Software Version: Cisco Nexus Operating System (NX-OS) Software, Version 7.0(3)I4(1)
    Version Source: CDP

  • In some cases, the health alert may be raised and cleared automatically within a few minutes:

[Node1: cshmd: hm.alert.raised:alert]: Alert Id = SwitchUnreachable_Alert , Alerting Resource = SW1  raised by monitor ethernet-switch
[Node1: cshmd: hm.alert.cleared:notice]: Alert Id = SwitchUnreachable_Alert , Alerting Resource = SW1 cleared by monitor ethernet-switch
