Issue

  • After ONTAP update, the following is seen in the system switch ethernet show output:
switch_name(XXXXXXXXXXX) cluster-network xxx.xxx.xx.xxx    N9K-C9336C-FX2
     Serial Number: Unknown
      Is Monitored: true
            Reason: None
 Software Version: Cisco Nexus Operating System (NX-OS) Software, Version
                    10.4(4)
    Version Source: CDP/ISDP
  • Attempting to remove and manually add the switch back has no effect on the Serial Number field.
