RCF fails to apply properly resulting in cluster network degraded

Issue

  • During RCF upgrade process, configurations from the RCF fail to apply:
user=admin:cmd=configure terminal ; interface Ethernet1/1-8, Ethernet1/9/1-4, Ethernet1/10/1-4 ; spanning-tree port type edge trunk (FAILURE)
user=admin:cmd=configure terminal ; interface Ethernet1/1-8, Ethernet1/9/1-4, Ethernet1/10/1-4 ; inherit port-profile CLUSTER_HA (FAILURE)
user=admin:cmd=configure terminal ; interface Ethernet1/11-22 ; spanning-tree port type edge trunk (FAILURE)
user=admin:cmd=configure terminal ; interface Ethernet1/11-22 ; inherit port-profile STORAGE (FAILURE)
user=admin:cmd=configure terminal ; interface Ethernet1/11-22 ; switchport vlan mapping 30 dot1q-tunnel 31 (FAILURE)
user=admin:cmd=configure terminal ; interface Ethernet1/23-34 ; inherit port-profile STORAGE (FAILURE)
  • After the upgrade errors are seen in EMS for cluster ports:
Node 01: vifmgr: callhome.clus.net.degraded:alert]: Call home for CLUSTER NETWORK DEGRADED: Large MTU Packet Loss - Ping failures detected between Node01_clus1 ( xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ) on Node01 and Node02_clus1 ( XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX ) on Node02.
 
  • CRC errors seen on all cluster ports for each node.
