Cisco cluster interconnect switch reboots due to kernel panic

Issue

  • Cisco cluster interconnect switch reboots unexpectedly.
  • The output of system health alert show command shows the following alerts:
    • SwitchIfIslDownWarn_Alert  for the surviving switch
    • SwitchReboot_Alert  for the switch that rebooted
    • ClusterIfIslDownWarn_Alert could also be seen by the switch that rebooted
    • ClusterSwitchMissing_Alert by one of the nodes as the switch is removed from CSHM
  • In the output of show tech-support from the affected switch, the following reason is seen for the reboot:
`show system reset-reason`
----- reset reason for module 1 (from Supervisor in slot 1) ---
1) At 143044 usecs after Thu Jan 13 00:21:50 2022
Reason: Kernel Panic
