Cisco 9332D-GX2B ISL down due to speed mismatch

Issue

  • SwitchIslIfDownWarn_Alert triggers for both cluster switches
  • show interface status from the switches shows the ISL down and suspended:

  • show interface <port> displays no errors on the port
  • show logging output shows unsupported SFP messages, and link failure:

  • Supported SFPs are replaced, but there is a temporary speed mismatch due to one end being 100G and the other 400G, resulting in link suspension:
