Brocade switch port down due to incompatible non Brocade SFP

Issue

  • In switchshow, port has state Mod_Inv:
19  19   011300   id    N32     Mod_Inv     FC  "Speed Mismatch / Incompatible SFP"
  • sfpshow lists no information about the SFP:

Port 19 does not use an SFP or is disabled!
  • errdump has message indicating the SFP could be incompatible:
[C4-1001], 25, CHASSIS, ERROR, BrocadeG610, S0,P19(Bp1) user_idx:19 [PID 0x011300] faulted due to invalid SFP, conflicting speed or laser fault. Check if the SFP or port speed is valid for the configuration.
  • When inspecting the SFP in person, it is not Brocade branded
