Brocade G720 Switch Reports High Fan Speed

Issue

  • The Brocade G720 switch intermittently reports high fan speed warnings. The following log entry is observed:
[HIL-1517],290989,CHASSIS,WARNING,BrocadeG720,Fan speed of all the fan FRUs changing to 17400RPM as per environmental specifications.
  • sensorshow output:
sensor1:(Temperature) is OK, value is 38C
sensor2:(Temperature) is OK, value is 40C
sensor3:(Temperature) is OK, value is 38C
sensor8:(Temperature) is OK, value is 47C
sensor9:(Temperature) is OK, value is 43C
sensor12:(Temperature) is OK, value is 47C
sensor19:(Fan) is OK, speed is 18519RPM
sensor20:(Fan) is OK, speed is 18519RPM
sensor21:(PowerSupply) is OK
sensor22:(PowerSupply) is OK
  • No other hardware errors or battery issues are reported.
