Brocade FC port offline with No_Module state

Issue

  • A Brocade fiber channel port connecting to an end device (host, storage, ATTO, etc) switched from a normal state to an No_module state

SWITCHCMD /fabos/bin/switchshow:

  • Sfpshow indicated that Media is not installed for that specific port

Media not installed
Extended smart data is Not available

  • To isolate the issue below troubleshooting steps can be performed
    • Check if there are any SFP present on that specific port.
    • If sfp is present, reseat the SFP module on that port.
    • If issue persists post reseating, swap it with a known good SFP and verify the port state.
