Cluster outage during BES-53248 cluster interconnect switch upgrade

Issue

  • During upgrade of EFOS firmware on BES-53248 switch, after reload on new version, interfaces connected to storage are down:

  • If not noticed and second switch upgraded with same issue, cluster has outage with all cluster applications offline (seen via advanced command cluster ring show).
  • Aggregates go to unknown status and NAS data (NFS and CIFS) stops being served.
  • There are no obvious errors in show logging buffered from switch logs, nor from EMS on storage.
