Why is Element VCP showing Metadata capacity full?

  • NetApp Element Plug-In for VMware vCenter Server (VCP) 
  • NetApp SolidFire 2-nodes cluster

Answer

  • It's mis-reporting full due to the alert on the node monitoring level
  • With 2-nodes SolidFire clusters the Protection Domain widget shows the error and full metadata as there is no resiliency

Additional Information

Protection Domains require at least 3 storage nodes. You can ignore the full alert when using 2-node cluster.
