E-Series MEL spamming VDD events after drive failure

Issue

After a drive replacement and an attempted media scan, the MEL becomes flooded with the following VDD event messages.
  • B:6/30/25, 1:05:05 PM (13:05:05) 54810356 201f VDD repair completed - Shelf 99, Bay B - SSID: 0, Devnum: 0x010000 LBA: 0x000000000027ff98----> Flags: 0x805 = READ: Read Operation, ERROR: IO Compl. w. Err, CURRENT: Read current data from cache - Error: 0x20f = ASV_XFER_DEST_MACH_ERR
The following errors can be found before the VDD events start occurring.
  • A:4/18/25, 4:29:52 AM (04:29:52) 9926 2054 Deallocated/allocated block mismatch in a volume stripe - Volume <volume name>
