Applies to

  • NetApp E-Series array using thin volumes
  • SANtricity OS 11.70 or earlier
  • One drive is in pending failure and another is bypassed

Issue

  • E-series controllers experience a reboot loop before entering lockdown state (OE-LU) after performing a volume expansion.
  • Performing volume expansion while one drive is in pending failure and another is bypassed results in page faults at updateFailedPieceCount() leading to controllers entering a reboot loop.
