E-Series ancient IO controller reboot during write operation to a volume

Issue

  • E-Series controller resets unexpedetely. The parsed event in the MAJOR-EVENT-LOG of E-Series support bundle indicated the reboot reason is due to ANCIENT_IO:
B:10/23/20, 8:43:17 AM (08:43:17) 93386 4010 Controller reset - Shelf 1, Bay B
----> Reboot Reason : SCSI: REBOOT_ON_ANCIENT_IO
  • Due to the unexpected controller reboot, a core dump is captured from the controller. The following signature can be found in the excLogShow command output and in the STATE-CAPTURE-DATA log file:
