Answer

HeadSwap is the process of transferring support and entitlement information from a failed system to its replacement system after an eligible hardware replacement.

During this process, NetApp transfers:

  • Customer ownership details
  • Support contracts
  • Software licences
  • Installed Base (IB) records

This ensures the replacement system receives the correct support coverage and licensing without interruption.
