File systems not found after renaming a Host (Domain)name

Last Updated:

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Server 4.x
  • SnapCenter plug-in for Windows (SCW) 4.x

A Host used by SnapCenter for Windows file system or SQL/Exchange database backups was moved or renamed to a different FQDN domain name.
After adding the new host name back into the SnapCenter GUI, no File system resources can be found for the host, and backups cannot be setup.
The database details will show "not available for backup", and the any scheduled backup (schedules run on the Host's Windows Task Scheduler) will come back with "resource not on NetApp storage".
