Unable to setup Fabricpool - Gateway Nodes Added Without Storage Nodes in same site

  • StorageGRID site with only gateway nodes

Issue

When attempting to set up a FabricPool configuration, the following error is encountered:
 
Error: Cannot verify availability of the object store from node IMSGFAS502-01. Reason: Service unavailable.
 
  • Review of the configuration shows sites with only gateway nodes and no storage nodes.
  • The gateway nodes expect to be able to communicate to storage nodes in the same site.
  • Which fails without any storage nodes being present in the site, resulting in the error on the ONTAP side.
