Issue

One storage node becomes unresponsive and unreachable over the network:

  • Ping test to the compute node SG5700 fails.
  • All compute node LEDs, including the 7-segment display, are off.
  • StorageGRID Manager web GUI reports major alerts:
    • ADC quorum not met
      • Storage Node with ADC service is offline. Expansion and decommission operations are blocked until ADC quorum is restored.”
    • Unable to communicate with node
      • One or more services are unresponsive, or the node cannot be reached.
    • Other nodes reports ILM placement unachievable.
      • A placement instruction in an ILM rule cannot be achieved for certain objects.
  • No recent maintenance or environmental changes.
  • StorageGRID ASUP logs show all services on the affected node as Unknown during the incident.
