Description

The following procedure describes the correct method to shut down and restart an entire grid. Deviation from this procedure can result in certain services entering an error state upon restart and subsequently extending the necessary downtime. The following are three common usage scenarios:

  • A scheduled facility maintenance (where the power and networking are being taken offline)
  • Relocation of the StorageGRID hardware
  • Corrective action for extreme NTP drift issues (This is required when the entire grid is fly-wheeling, that is, it has lost lock to the external time source)
