Issue

  • Cassandra service on a storage node can remain slow for many minutes while it spends most of its time in garbage collection. Related metrics can be found under the "Cassandra Node Overview" Grafana dashboard.
  • S3 requests that are dependent on that node may see high latency until Cassandra is restarted.
