Issue

  • Decommission process for secondary admin node hangs and does not complete
  • Status in Grid Manager GUI remains at Removing the configuration and clustering settings for all decommissioned nodes. This may take some time depending on the type and number of nodes.
  • Log messages indicate prolonged wait for node to initiate auto-shutdown sequence

  • /var/local/log/decommission-shutdown.log on secondary admin node shows:
 NTP was locked. Checking if it has been locked for an hour before removing /tmp/decommission-reboot.
NTP has been locked for 54 minutes.
Still waiting for service start.
