Why does BlueXP have a SnapCenter System account ?
Applies to
- BlueXP
- SnapCenter Service service (SCS)
- Cloud Backup Service for Apps (CBS)
- SnapCenter
Answer
SnapCenter-XXX users are indeed automatically created and associated to the account used, regardless of whether that account is making use of the BlueXP SnapCenter Cloud backup for Apps or not and regardless of BlueXP integration being enabled or disabled with OnPrem SnapCenter.
The account is visible when browsing through the BlueXP UI
as follows:Account > Manage Account > Members
Some Background information:
OnPrem servers can be backed up by SnapCenter and can be mirrored to the cloud (BlueXP).
This is why there is a default snapcenter account for the integration to work, whether or not you are using it.
This is nothing to be concerned about.
All users in BlueXP will get a snapcenter user associated with it: those accounts are indeed automatically created, nothing to worry about, it’s part of the design.
Additional Information
SnapCenter System
with minimum permissions is required: this role will be assigned to the SnapCenter Service service credential which gets created as part of tenant onboarding in SCS.For more information about SnapCenter OnPrem, see the below links:
