SCV mount and unmount fail due to lack of permissions

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere (SCV)
  • NFS datastore
  • Guest File Restore from secondary SVM.
  • SVMs added individually not as a cluster.

Issue

  • Attempting to unmount the cloned datastore (DS) fails with the error seen in both vCenter and SCV job log:

Failed to delete volume clone <DATA_LIF>:/vol/<VOLUME>: Error: The storage system is not registered or configured, or the current user does not have the required permissions. Verify that the storage system is assigned and accessible to the current user.,
Exception while unmounting nfs datastore:Failed to delete volume clone <DATA_LIF>:/vol/<VOLUME>: Error: The storage system is not registered or configured, or the current user does not have the required permissions. Verify that the storage system is assigned and accessible to the current user.,

  • SCV is failing to offline and delete the clone in the secondary storage used for the restore.
  • Restore from primary SVM works.
