Applies to

  • SnapCenter Server (SC) 4.5
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server (SCSQL) 4.5
  • Clone LifeCycle job (CLC)

Issue

  • There were 2 CLC jobs configured. One is at Resource Group (RG) level and the other at database (DB) level with the database in the DB CLC job part of the RG CLC
  • SC disables the database CLC job in Windows Task Scheduler on the SC server host
  • No error seen in logs although the disable entry can be seen in the SMCoreService.log on the SC server host
DEBUG SMCore PID=[4244] TID=[27] Start calling SchedulerTaskAction
DEBUG SMCore PID=[4244] TID=[27] ExecuteTaskAction starts
DEBUG SMCore PID=[4244] TID=[27] For hostname = localhost jobname = SnapCenter_<RG_ID>_POLICY-<PolicyID/Name>, task action = Disable
DEBUG SMCore PID=[4244] TID=[27] Changing Windows scheduler: <CLC_ResourceGroupName_Policy>
  • When the RG CLC is deleted or DB CLC is edited, causes the DB CLC to be disable. This can only be enabled manually in the Task Scheduler
