Issue

Backup of transaction logs fails for AlwaysOn Microsoft SQL Server FCI, with the following errors:
 
  • Error in SC UI

Backup of <Resource_Group_Name> using policy <Policy_Name> on <SQL_Host> failed with error: Log directory is not configured for the corresponding Host/FCI of SQL Instance: <SQL_Instance>

  • Error in SnapManagerWeb_<Job_ID> log

Backup [Failed] for Resource Group  <Resource_Group_Name> with Policy <Policy_Name> on primary

  • Error in SMCore_<Job_ID> log

ERROR SMCore_<Job_ID> PID=[33524] TID=[23] ErrorCode (-1), ErrorMessage (Log directory is not configured for the corresponding Host/FCI of SQL Instance: <SQL_Instance>)
