Issue

Orphaned SVMs persist in SnapCenter cache , even after deleting Ontap / FSX Cluster from Storage Systems in SnapCenter
In the SnapCenter Storage Settings , When the Cluster is added, all the SVMS under the Cluster are discovered.
These SVMS are not managed independently.

  • When the Cluster is deleted from the Storage Settings, SVMS no longer appear in the SnapCenter UI

When the backup/Clone job is run, we would see the following from the logs
2026-01-29T12:01:06.9133548+01:00 ERROR SMCore_656645 PID=[3284] TID=[173] Message    : Cache building for storage <SVM_Name1> - is in progress, try after some time.
