ONTAP tools for VMware vSphere v10.x

Issue

  • When attempting to add a specific ONTAP Select cluster as a storage backend in ONTAP Tools for VMware vSphere (OTV) configured with an IP address range of 10.42.x.x, the operation fails at the “Verifying certificate” stage.
  • The error presented is: Invalid hostname or IP address
  • OTV logs (example):

Failed to connect: dial tcp 10.42.x.x:443: i/o timeout
Failed to perform handshake and validate certificate dial tcp 10.42.x.x:443: i/o timeout
Invalid hostname or IP address.

  • Attempts to add the cluster by both FQDN and IP fail.
  • Other clusters with network configurations other than 10.42 or 10.43 add successfully.
  • Disabling certificate validation does not resolve the issue.
  • The cluster is reachable via curl from the OTV appliance shell, but not from within OTV application pods.
