OTV 9.13 An error occurred while adding a Storage System. Failed with a status code: 409

Issue

  • While trying to add a storage system to a new implementation of OTV 9.13, the process would fail with the following error, "An error occurred while adding Storage System. Query existing ONTAP updateUserAuthenticationMethods failed with status code: 409"

  • You can obtain an OTV support bundle though vCenter or by manually collecting the logs to verify if you are affected by this specific issue.
  • Extract the support bundle and verify in the vsc.log
    • Match the timestamp when the storage system is added and throws the status code 409 error:
